Saving timezones Locally vs to iCloud?
If you have World Time Widget on multiple devices and your settings are not the same, you may see a message letting you know there is a sync conflict.
If the timezone settings are different on both devices, you have the option of saving your timezones locally or to iCloud.
If you save timezones locally...
- Your timezones may be different on each device.
- If you add a timezone on one device, it will not sync to your other devices.
- If you lose or replace your device, you will need to re-add all timezones to your new device.
- You may choose this if you use devices for different purposes, for example if your iPhone has timezones saved for personal purposes (like catching up with friends & family) but your iPad has timezones saved for professional purposes (like contacting worldwide clients) and you don't want to combine the two.
If you save timezones to iCloud...
- Timezones will be the same on all devices.
- If you add or delete a timezone on one device, the change will sync to all other devices.
- If you lose or replace your device, your timezones will sync to your new device.
You can check or change your settings by following these steps:
- Open the app and tap the Settings Cog Wheel in the bottom left
- Scroll down and toggle Sync times to iCloud on/off
